River City Medical Group rebrands to Vivant Health to enhance member-focused healthcare delivery.
Northern California (September 2024)
We are pleased to announce that River City Medical Group, Inc. (RCMG), one of Northern California’s largest Independent Physician Associations (IPAs), serving over 270,000 Medicare and Medi-Cal patients, will be officially rebranding and begin doing business as Vivant Health.
Our new name, Vivant Health, reflects our mission to inspire hope and promote health equity by delivering integrated clinical practice, leveraging advanced healthcare technology, providing innovative care solutions, and fostering strong partnerships among health plans, patients, and you, our most valued care providers, to ultimately ensure a healthier future for all. We are committed to “Bringing Healthcare to Life” through equitable access and improved health outcomes for all our members.
Through value-based initiatives and targeted system improvement, we are enhancing the patient experience, improving population health, reducing costs, and bettering the work life of healthcare providers.
Rebranding also allows us to grow and diversify not only geographically but also beyond our original Medi-Cal roots. By merging multiple brands under Vivant Health, we’re able to offer an integrated suite of coordinated services. We aim to make whole-family care and quality senior services accessible for all. As Vivant Health, we’re able to help our members better understand how we bring them personalized, compassionate, and high-quality care.
Our new logo, featuring a representation of the sun, symbolizes our commitment to promoting health equity and illuminating a path toward better population health and enhanced patient experiences. Just as the sun brings light and warmth, Vivant Health brings healthcare to life, aiming to be a beacon of compassionate and innovative care, ensuring lasting and equitable access for all.
Our core values of quality, excellence, compassion, integrity, innovation, and collaboration are reflected in the sun’s radiance, representing our dedication to integrating advanced healthcare technology and culturally sensitive care solutions. The sun also signifies our focus on fostering strong partnerships among health plans, patients, and care providers, transitioning from traditional methods to sustainable strategies that reduce operational burdens on providers and enhance the well-being of the communities we serve.
Within the vibrant emblem of Vivant Health, each of the eight rays of light symbolizes a distinct and vital program and division of care, illuminating our visionary commitment to holistic well-being through equitable access and improved health outcomes for all our members. From medical expertise to compassionate support, each ray represents a cornerstone of our operational philosophy, dedicated to enriching lives and fostering enduring health within our community.
As we transition to Vivant Health, we renew our promise to ensure equitable quality healthcare access for all, continuing the legacy we’ve built over the past 30 years. We thank you for being part of our journey and look forward to continuing to serve our members and community with you.

About Vivant Health:
Founded in 1992 by Sacramento community physicians, RCMG was established to better serve Medi-Cal patients. Initially a direct primary care case management program, RCMG expanded in the 1990s through partnerships with health plans and community health centers. Over time, the organization broadened its network to include seniors and individuals with chronic health needs.
RCMG progressed toward community health and coordinated care, eventually leading to expansion into Medicare programs, partnerships with eight premier health plans and with all community health centers, and an integrated suite of additional coordinated programs and services, all cared for by our network of over 3,480 physicians.
Today, Vivant Health serves over 270,000 patients, emphasizing quality care, data-driven metrics, and technology-based innovation, with local community doctors and health centers still at its core.
